Bryan Colbert made a rare appearance at the golf course last weekend and ending up winning with a nett 64 to steal the show from Jim Fowler. Bryan was awarded the day after both golfers finished up on 64 with Jim being relegated to 2nd via a countback. Gary Collins finished 1 stroke back on 65 with Ben Mason having the best gross score of the day with a great 76.
VJ Sweeney led the charge into the bar for the bragging rights with a great approach shot on the 8th to win the nearest the pin followed by the nearest the pin for 2 on the 12th. Gary Collins, Ben Mason and Lyn Lissa all had their 5 seconds of fame for a hole-in-one but a miss is a good as a mile so the Ace remains elusive again. Nathan Harvey snared the Men’s long drive whilst Jenny Dickson again won the lady’s long drive. Shot of the day went to Wayne Podmore with the longest putt of the day. Two of our up and coming juniors in Jordan Tavo and Bevan Green, both had a nett of 75 which is streets ahead of some golfers twice their age. Perhaps a couple names to look for in the future. |
