Lyle Smedley, whose handicap is obviously way too high, had a great day out when he returned to the clubhouse with 48 points to win last Saturday’s stableford competition. Lyle was a clear winner with 5 points separating himself from Wayne Grommbridge who finished on 43 points. Wayne would consider himself unlucky not to win as he picked up the nearest the pin on No 2, the men’s long drive and the nearest the pin for 2 shots on the 12th.
Greg Herbert had a reasonable day out finishing third with a hard fought 41 points. VJ Sweeney left the clubhouse with a fat wallet after taking out the nearest the pin on the 13th which was also the money hole and then topped it off with the longest putt of the day. Shot of the day went to Sally Connelly when she won the lady’s long drive. I didn’t see any other lady’s even get close to Sally’s drive said the club captain. She certainly was out there on her own.
